Coup - Making a skilled, non-intuitive play, such as reducing the
trump holdings to create a finesse or endplay, aided by one's opponents
necessity to play a certain suit.

  K 10 8 5 | | | West leads the
        S6, won
in dummy who then cashes the HK.  When West shows out, declarer plays
dummy's DA and ruffs a Diamond with
H4 -- this places South with the
same number of trumps as East (both four left). If Spades break 3-3,
declarer needs 5 more tricks after HK and ruff.  Ruffing 2
more Diamonds in dummy and 2 finesses are required, but how?
Playing the fourth dummy Spade provides the answer -- if East ruffs,
        South overruffs.
