Synopsis: Many say this
is the finest book ever written on play of the cards. This book discusses
principles are explained clearly and illustrated beautifully with sample
hands. The chapters follow a theme: first play the hand, then play the hand
again from the perspective of the defense - each chapter is followed by a
quiz. The presentation is concise, witty and informative at the same time.
Very easy to read, and just as useful today as when it was first written 40
years ago - many find it easier to read than "Watson's Play of the hand".
Each chapter spotlights everyday situations and how to handle them. In
particular any determined Intermediate player should aspire to the art of
card-reading -- of 'seeing' the hands of the other players.
