| Standard 
    Count - The play of a
    high-low signal showing a even number of cards in 
    declarer's side suit or Notrump contract (also see Trump Echo), first 
    discarding a higher card and subsequently discarding a lower card.  
    Many players also use high-low signals to 
    shows a (positive) standard attitude of 
    the card led by partner in certain situations. Examples: 
    Opponent leads the SA in Declarer's side suit or Notrump contract apparently the top of a sequence. Count 
    signals normally take precedence over attitude signals in suits controlled 
    by the opposition. Partner signals: High-low shows an even number of cards in 
    the suit Low-high shows an odd number of cards in 
    the suit Conditions 
    for count signals: Opponent leads a suit One partner leads the suit, 
    other partner follows playing to the trick (although most players show 
    attitude signals in this scenario) 
    When the value of providing count signals to partner exceeds the value to 
    declarer
