    ACBL Educational Foundation, funded by a grant from the Homer Shoop/International 
    Palace of Sports, presents a $1000 scholarship to the annual winner.

    Knockout 
    Tournament - An event where a four player team splits up into pairs, 
    competing against another team for a round (often 28 boards).  At one 
    table, the pair sits East-West, while their partner's sit North-South at the 
    other table.  After the round, the results are compared using IMP 
    scoring and the winner progresses to the next round against another winning 
    team.  Further rounds continue until only one team remains. See
